For the second year running, the Millard Fuller Foundation won the award for the Affordable Housing Project of the Year 2017 at the just concluded 11th Abuja Housing Show/Nigeria Housing Awards organised by FESADEB Communications.

The award event which held at the International Conference Center on Wednesday, the 19th of July, 2017 had in attendance dignitaries, eminent personalities and professionals in the housing sector, notable amongst them being Senator Osita Izunaso, National Organising Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Chairman, FESADEB Media Group Ltd, the CEO, Millard Fuller Foundation, Sam Odia, and the ED, Millard Fuller Foundation, Funmi Odia.

The award which was set up to encourage competition and competitive pricing in the Housing Construction Industry was carefully designed to recognize the efforts of both established and up-coming organization in the Housing/Construction Sector in Nigeria.

Speaking before the award presentation, Dr. Kunle Faleti, Chairman, Board of Directors, FESADEB Communications, thanked all present, and also reiterated the fact the process through which the awardees emerged was a “rigorous” one.

It can be recalled that the Millard Fuller Foundation won the Award for the Affordable Housing Project Of The Year at the 10th Abuja Housing Show in 2016, which also coincided with its 10th Anniversary. An affordable housing organisation with its headquarters in Luvu Madaki, a community in Masaka, Nasarawa State, the Millard Fuller Foundation presently partners with the Family Homes Funds, an initiative of the Federal Ministry of Finance to deliver affordable homes to low income earners in Nigeria. With over 200 housing units comprising of 1 and 2-bedroom semi-detached units fully completed which sell from 2.5m, the Millard Fuller Foundation has also commenced the construction of 400 additional units of 1 and 2-bedrooms which are due to be completed before the end of the year.

The night featured live entertainment from the Civil Defence Band, traditional dancers, authentic Nigerian cuisine, and an awards presentation in honour of those who have made remarkable contributions to the housing sector in Nigeria.
